If you're in Kuching, Sarawak, MJAYS CAFE is a must-visit spot that encapsulates the rich flavors of local cuisine in a cozy, welcoming environment. This café is not just a place to grab a bite; it's an experience steeped in the vibrant culinary traditions of Malaysia.

As you step into MJAYS CAFE, you're greeted by the tantalizing aromas of sizzling fried chicken and spicy sambal that beckons from the kitchen. The ambiance is relaxed and friendly, perfect for casual dining, catch-ups with friends, or even a comforting meal after a long day. The café caters to anyone looking to indulge in flavorful dishes that honor local flavors.

The menu at MJAYS CAFE is a delightful exploration of Malaysian favorites, with a particular emphasis on chicken dishes that stand out. The "Ayam Gepuk With Rice" (MYR 17.90) is a crowd favorite, featuring succulent fried chicken paired with white rice and a spicy sambal that adds a fiery kick to your meal. For those who prefer something crispy yet tender, the "Nasi Ayam Penyet" (MYR 15.90) offers a tantalizing combination of smashed fried chicken, fragrant rice, and an array of fresh herbs that awaken your palate. If you enjoy spiciness, then the "Nasi Ayam Geprek" (MYR 15.90) is your go-to, as it pairs crispy chicken with a robust—and potentially addictive—hot and spicy sambal that customers rave about, like King Purba who noted, “sambal hot hot besttt”!

The café also offers a selection of side dishes that shouldn't be overlooked. Whether you want a plain "Nasi Putih" (MYR 2.00) to accompany your main or you're looking for something extra like "Sambal Geprek" (MYR 2.00), you can easily find something to satisfy your cravings. Additionally, the "Beef Satay" serves as a delightful late-night treat, perfect for those who enjoy some good grub while hanging out with friends—though some reviews did mention a touch of inconsistency with the service during bustling hours.

Customers have expressed love for local classics blended with stellar service, though there are slight improvements to be made in the ordering process, but as Ken Wong pointed out, "overall, foods here taste great and should have a try." If you're a fan of laksa, MJAYS CAFE holds its own with its special "Laksa Cikgu," albeit with a light broth that some may prefer over heavier options. It's a dive into Malaysian culinary culture you won't want to miss.

In summary, MJAYS CAFE is more than just a café; it's a vibrant hub of flavors and local charm. So, whether you're looking for a quick bite or a place to unwind after exploring Kuching, MJAYS CAFE has something for everyone. Don’t forget to grab an extra sambal and heed the advice of regulars—be sure to indulge in the local favorites that this café has perfected!

Great taste on local food "Mee Mangkuk Merah". Also, this cafe serve satay which is great and taste good. Just need to improve the food ordering, as there are different group of staff working for different stall which delayed the ordering process. Overall, foods here taste great and should have a try.

the beef satay is nice especially as a late night treat , the cashier is a bit rude but possibly because it was around 10pm at the time . other than that , cant go wrong as ‘tempat lepak’

One of the finest and cheapest Laksa & Kolo Mee you can find in town. The legendary Mee Kolok Mangkok Merah is a must try. Laksa Cikgu is to die for. If u want more liquid for ur drinks, be sure to ask “gantong”. A perfect night hang out spot if u want a quick bite.
